Never Give Up!

Columbia golf junior Wilhelm Elliott, who turned seven years old on February 21st got an early birthday present when he was South Carolina Golf course, Timberlake on February 10th during an Irmo Chapin Winter Youth Golf Tour. This gift was hard earned on his last hole and it was “wrapped in a life lesson!” Young Wilhelm it seems got off to an awful start and by the 4th hole he was ready to pack it in and head to the clubhouse. He had all he could take and turned to his caddy and said, “Let’s go home, Dad.” But his Daddy Caddy had other ideas, “No son, we don’t quit because you never know what might happen.” Well Dad was right, they kept playing and Wilhelm’s last shot of the day on the 9th hold found the cup for an eagle! There were seven surprised Columbia golf players who witnessed it including partners Jensen and Jalen Castle, Darin and Elizabeth Castle and the Castle girls’ grandparents! Happy Birthday Wilhelm!
