JACKSON HAS FIRST ACE!

Sam Jackson, a ninth grader on the Pelion High School Golf Team, stroked his 4-iron perfectly on the third hole at Columbia golf course, Cooper’s Creek 177 yards directly in the cup while playing with his coach and several teammates. This is the same young Columbia golf player who posted a 64 at Oconee Country Club not long ago! He has a teammate named Cody Proveaux is an accomplished competitive player, so keep your eyes on Pelion Golf this year because there is quite a bit of youthful talent and spirit in Pelion!

Another ninth grader had quite an accomplishment recently in the Patriot High School Golf Preview in Charleston. Columbia golf phenom, Chris Doerring, a freshman starter on the Irmo High School Varsity team, broke 80 for the first time in a tournament. Doerring fired a 79!

Brewer Bradshaw of A.C. Flora and future Clemson Tiger won the event with a 2 round total of 142. The future of South Carolina golf is surely in good hands!
